Mobile Window Tinting Tips

by Tinter Nick on 2012/05/18

Today i will share with you some tips and tricks that may help you the next time you go mobile tinting, as in, hitting the road with your tint and tools and installing window film at the customers home or workplace.

Like all good cub scouts you need to Be Prepared: Make sure you have loaded your power supply, this may be either a petrol powered generator system or just a regular household mains electrical extension lead, as long as you can power your heatgun you should be good to go.

Be aware that you may come across a client who will not let you take power from their property as they are focused on the possible litigation that may arise if anything went wrong whilst you where using their power supply. A bit sad i know but that's just how the world has changed for the worst these days.

Back-up Plan: It may be worth investing in a blow torch, it seems quite a few window tinters are now using a blow torch similar to those used by a plumber.

The beauty of these gas powered torches is that you can go anywhere and do the job. The flame is available at the squeeze of a trigger and you are not messing about with any power supply as they are self contained. just make sure you don't linger too long on one spot when heat shrinking as you may burn some plastic or rubber trim.

Before you load up the truck and head out to your customers location, think about your mounting solution bottles, i prefer to use filtered water, so either load up with a few bottles from the store so you know if you need to refill your spray bottles you will have clean solution.

Don't forget you will need to illuminate the interior of the vehicle for when you cut out the pattern for the back glass, placing white paper around the rear deck area will help you illuminate the area easier and make pattern making a simple process.

Use these tips as they are all useful and may make your next mobile window tint install a little easier.

Biker Brotherhood Alive And Well

May 18, 2012

I remember as a young Biker going to Biker Parties with my Father “Pappy”. I didn’t have a Motorcycle License yet and I would ride on the back of his. I think back to these events and as I look back now threw the eyes of a person a bit older and hopefully a bit wiser. There are two different types of people that stand out at these events. I will call the first group the “Guests”, These are the people who would show up at parties pay their $5 to get in, Most of these people were good people who were there to have a good time, but of course there were always the ones there to just drink and eat as much as they could for their $5 .
